Foaming rapids, tranquil rivers, beautiful lakes and the cultural landscape of Saarijärvi. All these are provided by a, 82 km-long scenic route Kyyjärvi-Karstula-Pylkönmäki-Saarijärvi. On the longest continuous route of rapids in Southern Finland you can raft 22 rapids, nearly seven kilometres in total. From the Route of the Rapids you can continue to the Seven Lakes kayaking route.
In the spring the water is high and rafting the bigger rapids requires previous experience or rafting under the instructions of a qualified guide. In July – August the water is lower and the current is slower.
There are also great fishing spots along the route.
